This week at Central Parish Church 

Hello folks, and greetings from Bellshill Central Parish Church of Scotland.   If you’re looking for a church that this Central to Christ, Central to you and Central to Bellshill then look no further!  Here you will find a church and a people with a real heart and soul for worship, who enjoy fellowship and socialising throughout the week.
All at Bellshill Central Parish Church wish the readers of the Times and Speaker a very merry Christmas.   

This coming Sunday’s services for christmas eve take place at 11am and 7pm.  

At 11.00am our Minister, Rev’d Kevin de Beer, leads us in morning worship for Christmas Eve, with seasonal readings and carols.  His theme for that day is ‘Saying yes to God’ with bible readings from Psalm 89: verses 1-4 and 19-26 & Luke 1:26-38

Then at 7.00pm our Young Church leads us in Christmas Eve All Age Worship with a Nativity Play from the Angels point of view!   Come early as this is always a busy service.  Wear your Christmas Jumpers, Ties, Hats and Head-wear!  Refreshments are served after the 7.00pm service.  All are warmly invited.

We would be delighted to welcome you. Let us build a house where all can dwell – All are welcome in this place!

A special thanks from all at Central Parish Church to all who lead us in two wonderful Carol services last weekend.   Our morning service  featured  our choir  (Bellshills Best Choir) under the watchful eye of Alan Mathew our organist, skilfully lead us in nine lessons  and  carols. In the evening some of our folks shared what Christmas means to them in Carols by candle light.   Fiona MacDonald sang two beautiful festive songs; and Helen and Jim read two lovely Christmas poems.  

Our organisations have now almost stopped for the Christmas break, but return in 2018 to which all are invited.

CHURCH CD NOW ON SALE

Bellshill Central Parish Church is pleased to announce that our church CD, featuring what is arguably one of Lanarkshire’s finest pipe organs, is now on sale.   The CD is called SOUNDS FROM CENTRAL
This would make a great Christmas gift for anyone connected with Bellshill Central Parish Church, anyone with a love of church music, organ music or a gift of something that little bit different.

The CDs are only £5 each – a real bargain –  for an original and collectable collection of Advent, Christmas and General music.

They are on sale each Sunday before or after worship, and also after our Christmas Eve family service at 7.00pm.    If you wish to reserve a copy, would like to order one for postal delivery or ask any questions please do get in touch – either through the contact button on the website or via our Facebook page.

Our prayer book continues to be available in the main vestibule of the church. We offer prayer for those asking for specific people and circumstances each week during worship. We are a Parish Church and are here for you in times of joy and sadness. Our minister, Rev Kevin de Beer, is available to the local community to offer spiritual support or to simply offer prayer. ADVANCE DATE FOR YOUR DIARY

Sunday 21st January at 6.30pm in Dalziel St Andrew’s the joint choirs or Bellshill Central and Dalziel St Andrews Churches will help lead a service in the week of prayer for Christian unity.   This is jointly run with the Lanarkshire Society of Organists and a donation will be taken to support St Andrew’s Hospice.  Please mark the date in your diary and come along!

Our hall and facilities are available at other times during the week and are available to be hired for one-off occasions or longer term lets. Please get in touch with us if you need a space to hire. We have now installed Wi-Fi which means we can offer facilities for online events taking place in the church and halls.

Morning Worship with Rev Kevin de Beer – 11.00am to which all are invited

Evening service – Christmas Eve Family Service with our Young Church Nativity at 7.00pm – Refreshments are served after this service.
The Nativity this year is from the viewpoint of THE ANGELS and will include drama, readings, songs and favourite carols.

You are advised to come along early for a good seat as this is usually a busy service.  Please wear your festive attire to add to the occasion, whether this be your woolly jumper, flashing tie, head gear or flashing badges etc.

This coming Sunday’s services are both carol services.   At 11.00am our Organist and Choir lead us in Nine Lessons and Carols, with many readers from the congregation taking part also.  At 6.30pm we invite the WHOLE TOWN to come join us in Carols by Candle Light, where members of our church share what Christmas means to them interspersed by carols and Christmas readings.   Refreshments are served after the 6.30pm service.  We would be delighted to welcome you. Let us build a house where all can dwell – All are welcome in this place!

Church Choir meets tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm in the Church for final preparations for Sunday 17th’s nine lessons and carols.  There will also be a short practise again on Sunday morning in the Church at 9.45am.
