As the Church of Scotland in Bellshill we extend a warm welcome to any of our activities. People have been coming to this building to worship God for over a hundred years. While our town has journeyed through many changes over those years, the constancy of the witness of the “Church at 346 Main Street” has remained uninterrupted. The mission of any Church is to reflect through its presence, its music, its fellowship and its beauty the greatness of God, and we seek to do that here in all that we share. We hope that everyone who enters these doors will find an encouraging, friendly group of people. While we are far from perfect, we are regularly discovering truths that are changing us individually and enriching our lives as a church community. As we worship together, learn from the Bible, and pray for one another, we are strengthened in our commitment to Jesus Christ as well as to each other. If this is your first time here, we welcome you, and invite you to share the joy that we have found.

Easter and Holy Week 2023

There are lots of services and activities planned in and around Bellshill Central Parish Church this coming week.

Beginning with Palm Sunday on 2nd April with our service at 11am, followed by tea and coffee in the halls, with delicious hot cross buns!

Holy Week activities take place most days in person or online

  • Monday at 7.30pm via Zoom – holy week prayers
  • Wednesday at 7.30pm in Bellshill West Church – Shared worship
  • Maundy Thursday at 7.30pm in Bellshill Central Parish Church – shared worship with Communion. (Tea, coffee, available from 6.30pm)
  • Good Friday from 11am to 1pm Bellshill Central Parish Church is open for prayer and reflection.
  • Good Friday at 7.30pm in Bothwell Church – shared worship with a Tenebrae Service
  • EASTER SUNDAY at 9am in the Garden at Bellshill Central Parish Church – early service followed by Breakfast in the Hall
  • EASTER SUNDAY at 11am in Bellshill Central Parish Church – All Age Service with Easter Egg Hunt and Communion.

Prayer For Our Pastor

Our minister, Revd Kevin de Beer, has been on leave now all of February and March. As we continue to pray for him and the entire Manse family, we invite you all to join in this prayer for Kevin, Cheryl, and the kids. Thank you all so much.


Dear Lord, Thank you for our pastor. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would lead and guide him in all the duties that he is called upon to do. Lord, keep him ever open to hear Your voice and give him a heart that seeks to draw ever closer to Your heart of love, day by day.

May he rest in You and draw all His strength from You. Give him a passion to lift up the Lord Jesus in every aspect of his ministry. Prevent him from the ‘busyness’ of his pastoral duties, and may he learn to rest in You and to wait on Your leading, and Lord, keep him close to You in thought, word and deed I pray, so that he may remain pure in motive and attitude as well.

Guard and guide his home life, his wife, and his children and keep each of them united in their love for You and for each other. Prevent any resentment from developing when duty calls, but rather may his home and family become a place of encouragement and refreshment for his soul. May it also be a place where You remain as the central figure.

Keep our pastor and his family from the assaults of the enemy and from the criticism that follows a man who seeks to be Christ-focussed. Guard and guide them from being tempted toward the lust of the world and the lust of the flesh or from developing any prideful attitudes.

Lord, give our pastor integrity and grace in all his duties, and may he delight himself in the Lord so that his life and example is a wonderful witness to others, so that You may be glorified through his ministry. In Jesus’ name, I pray,

Amen.
