We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Church and Hall.
Bellshill Central Parish Church has always been notable for its confident “singing” congregation, and the Church Choir exists primarily to encourage this to be the case.
The Choir contributes a sung introit each Sunday beginning our worship services. On occasion we sing an anthem mid-way through the service, usually based on the readings or theme.
In addition to our regular introits and anthems, we take great joy in contributing to the church’s special services throughout the year. Easter 2015 saw us present Resurrection Rock for the whole church family, and Christmas brought an especially busy and uplifting season. The Choir sang at The Big Christmas Sing, led worship at our traditional Service of Lessons and Carols, supported the very first Bellshill Central Candlelight Carols, and rounded off the celebrations on Christmas Eve.
We have also produced a well‑received performance of Stainer’s Crucifixion, and over the years we’ve led a number of evening Big Sings in support of both local and national charities. When our preacher has been unavailable, the Choir has stepped forward to lead worship, ensuring continuity and care for our congregation. Since 2015, it has also become a cherished Bellshill Central tradition for the Choir to lead a Service of Lessons and Carols on the Sunday before Christmas—a highlight of our musical year and a moment of joy for the whole church family.
We are a close‑knit group who value good conversation, laughter, and fellowship whenever we meet. New singers are always welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm—there’s always room for another voice in our choir family.
