Explaining Our Mission Statement

When the congregations in Bellshill came together in 2014 as Bellshill Central Parish Church we wanted to create a mission statement.

Have you ever wondered just exactly what our mission statement means?

Our mission statement sets out who we are, what we believe, and how we live out our faith together.

“We seek to look forward in faith”

This speaks of trust and hope. As a church, we are not standing still but looking ahead with confidence in God’s guidance, open to where the Holy Spirit is leading us.

“To worship God”

Worship is at the heart of everything we do. Through prayer, praise, teaching, and fellowship, we seek to honour God and deepen our relationship with Him.

“And to serve him in the community”

Our faith is lived out beyond the church walls. We aim to show God’s love in practical ways—caring for others, supporting those in need, and being an active, compassionate presence in our local community.

“To offer hope of a better future”

In a world that can often feel uncertain or challenging, we believe God offers hope. We seek to share encouragement, comfort, and assurance through the love and promises found in Christ.

“And to encourage people of all ages to know and love Jesus as Lord and Saviour.”

We are committed to nurturing faith at every stage of life. Through worship, learning, and fellowship, we invite children, young people, adults, and older members alike to grow in their understanding of Jesus and to follow Him in daily life.

Together, this mission statement reflects our calling to be a worshipping, welcoming, and outward-looking church, grounded in faith and motivated by love.

Our mission statement:
“We seek to look forward in faith, to worship God and to serve him in the community. To offer hope of a better future and to encourage people of all ages to know and love Jesus as Lord and Saviour.”
