Experience Scotland’s Stained Glass Treasures and Music Heritage

Doors Open Days is more than just an event—it’s an invitation to step into the stories, spaces, and heritage that shape this remarkable country.

Whether you’re a resident here in Scotland or a visitor eager to delve deeper into the nation’s history, Doors Open Days offers a unique chance to connect with Scotland in a way that’s both educational and inspiring. So, as 28th September rolls around, be sure to take advantage of this opportunity, come through our open doors, and see where the journey takes you.

We have a stunning collection of stained glass windows. Our Macdonald Memorial Window was the first to replace the plain leaded glass and is a marvellous Art Nouveau style triple light window. Next we have four excellent examples of the Abbey Studio all dedicated to the memory of Sgt Brownlee. We have a further set of four by the renowned Gordon Webster, some of his last designs. Finally, church member and elder Lesley Marshall designed a window in our vestibule as part of her Higher studies at Bellshill academy.

We have an excellent display of plaster mouldings, from pillar capitals, arch supports and ribbing in the upper aisles.

Music plays an important part of our witness, and at 2pm you can hear the magnificent sounds of our Hilson pipe organ, installed in December 1930. Our organist will provide a demonstration and short recital.
