Sunday worship on Sunday 14th April will be held at Bellshill Central Parish Church, 346 Main Street, Bellshill,  ML4 1BA.

We gather at 11am for our morning service led by our interim moderator,  the Revd Derek Pope. Activities for young folks available during the Spring School holidays for any young folks that come along with you.

HOPE FOR AUTISM NORTH LANARKSHIRE 

During March Hope for Autism, hosted their interactive Dungeons and Dragons sessions in our hall. 

They were such a success that new groups are meeting on Wednesdays from 10:00 – 13:00 from the 24th of April til the 12th of June; and on Monday’s from 16:00 – 22:00, from the 22nd of April til the 10th of June.


FORTHCOMING EVENTS AND AN INVITATION IS EXTENDED TO ALL

  • Saturday 27th April 2024 – Cheese and Wine Event in the Church Halls. Mark the date. Tickets will be available soon
  • Friday 17th May, Anniversary Concert with Arietta. Tickets available soon.
  • Sunday 19th May Pentecost Communion and wear red Clothes Show 
  • Sunday 9th June, Communion Service
  • Monday 24th June, Mossend Primary end of term service




150TH ANNIVERSARY DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

 

  • We continue our celebrations on Friday 17th May when we are hosting a concert for the Church Family, Wider Church family and our local community – with the wonderful ladies choir Arietta conducted by Janet Young. The programme will include popular music and songs from stage, show and films. More details to follow but please save the date so you can come along. 
  • We have been very lucky to book the incoming Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the soon to be “Right” Rev Dr Shaw J Paterson. He will take part in worship on Sunday 20th October 2024. Shaw is known to many here at Bellshill Central Parish Church, and is a “local” lad from Holytown. Please mark that special date in your diaries.

Weekly news and what’s on at BCPC

Sunday worship on Sunday 7th April will be held at Bellshill Central Parish Church, 346 Main Street, Bellshill,  ML4 1BA.

We gather at 11am for our morning service led by our Organist and Choir for Easter Lessons and Carols. Activities for young folks available during the Spring School holidays for any young folks that come along with you. 

Tea and Coffee are served after the service and we hope everyone can stay behind and come to the hall for further fellowship.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our two Easter services. Our garden service was thoughtful and reflective and led by our Church Prayer group. We began to decorate the easter cross. We then shared in breakfast in the hall afterwards, before our 11am All Age Service got underway. The Easter Cross was decorated further as other worshippers came along.

HOPE FOR AUTISM NORTH LANARKSHIRE

HOLY WEEK SERVICES and events we’re held in the church but of particular note was the showing of the 1973 film ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and our Maundy Thursday Communion led by Rev Margaret Rose,  BD. 

The Communion service was intimate and meaningful. The film allowed those present to relive the events of the passion.

What’s on at Bellshill Central Parish Church

Sunday worship on Sunday 31st March will be held at Bellshill Central Parish Church, 346 Main Street, Bellshill,  ML4 1BA

We meet at 9am in the church garden for a short outdoor act of worship, if the weather is inclement we will meet in the hall. Afterwards we share breakfast.

We then gather again at 11am for our morning service led by Rev Jim Zambonini with activities for young folks available via our Creche and Young Church. 

Please bring along some fresh flowers/daffodils to decorate the Flowering Cross.

Huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our Daffodil tea. It was a great time of friendship and fellowship.  We raised over £1,000 for church funds too! A massive and appreciative shout out to our Fundraising and social team for their tremendous organising and hosting of this wonderful afternoon



 

POTTS EASTER EGG APPEAL

Many thanks to everyone who once again made sure we have over 120 eggs for the Potts Easter eggs appeal.

During March we’re hosting Hope for Autism, with their interactive Dungeons and Dragons sessions. Each Wednesday in the hall from 10.45am to 12noon. Primarily for young adults aged 18+. Please share the details to all who might be interested. 


HOLY WEEK –
Wednesday at 7.30pm Film Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), 
Thursday at 7.30pm Service of Communion with Rev Margaret.
Good Friday – the Church is open for Prayer and Reflection from 11am – 1pm, in the evening we are invited to attend either St Andrews Church (7pm) or the Salvation Army with the Amsterdam Staff Band  (7pm).

Easter Sunday – 9am Garden service led by the Church Prayer group, followed by a shared breakfast in the Hall.  11am All Age Service with communion led by the Revd Jim Zambonini.

Afterwards we have our Hot Cross Bun Sunday in the hall.

Frazer from Potts Funeral Directors will collect all our donated easter eggs, so 24th March is the last day to drop off any donations.

EASTER SUNDAY

We meet early at 9am in the Church grounds/garden. Our prayer group leads us in a short outdoor service, followed by breakfast in the hall.  Please bring along some fresh flowers/daffodils to decorate the Flowering Cross.

Revd Jim Zambonini leads our 11am family service in the church. The service will include communion and the flowering cross.

We are once again one of the donation/collection points for the appeal and so far have over 100 eggs from our own congregation. Anyone in the local community can drop off eggs anytime we are open. They will be very gratefully received and passed on to Frazer at Potts on Palm Sunday.

Saturday 23rd March. DAFFODIL TEA will take place in the Church Halls between 1ppm-3pm, and will include delicious cakes and treats, and a Yellow Themed tombola.  June’s world famous Lemon Curd will be making a re-appearance.  If you have any empty curd/chutney jars left over from Christmas, or any jars, that can repurposes/recycled please pass to June Cook. Donations of any Yellow items for our Tombola are required. Items can be anything, as long as they are yellow! For example, yellow washing gloves (!), Yellow wrapped biscuits (Custard Creams perhaps), yellow candles, yellow spring treats etc. The list is endless.  If you can help with donations of home baking please see Jane Aitken to see where you can help. 

Sunday 24th March we will have Hot Cross buns served along with tea and coffee, and the opportunity to purchase leftovers from the Daffodil tea.
