On Sunday mornings, we’re the Church of Scotland in Bellshill
Changes are taking place nationally in the Church of Scotland, with some of these changes happening closer to home.
Bellshill: Central Parish Church is very much still open. We’re your town centre Church covering Bellshill, Orbiston, and Mossend. We have Sunday morning worship every week. We have activities throughout the week for all ages. Please come along and join us.

This verse reminds us:
The church is not a building;
the church is not a steeple;
the church is not a resting place;
the church is a people.
The church is not a building
The church isn’t a building, but it’s our base and where we meet. Our church at 346 Main Street is very much still open, and our doors are open for activities, meetings, and worship to the town centre and beyond.
The church is not a steeple
Well, we don’t have one for starters! But as a steeple might rise upwards, looking heaven wards, we look up to God seeking guidance in reaching out into our community
The church is not a resting place
We don’t just sit back! We’re a collective body of believers who are called to be active and engaged in serving God and others. We pray that our church is a dynamic entity that is always learning, sometimes struggling, and involved in serving and spreading the Gospel.
The church is a people
The phrase “the church is a people” means that the true essence of the church lies in the community of believers, not in a physical building. The word “church” originates from the Greek ekklesia, meaning an assembly or called-out group of people. This concept is supported by scripture, particularly St. Paul’s descriptions of the church as the “Body of Christ” and St. Peter’s reference to the “People of God”. Therefore, the church is not a location but a living entity composed of individuals united by faith in Jesus Christ.
Bellshill: Central Parish Church of Scotland is very much alive and thriving. We are the Church for the town centre of Bellshill, Mossend and Orbiston.
