Our service at Bellshill Central Parish Church at 346 Main Street, is on SUNDAY 9th JULY AT 11AM, when our Minister Rev’d Kevin de Beer will conduct worship based on “I really do love you, please let me help you”. This is a joint service with St Andrew’s and West Churches. Provision for Children and Young Adults activities will be available. The joint choirs of Central and West Churches meet at 10am in the Church hall to go over some items to be included in the service. Bible readings are: Isaiah 25:1-9 and Luke 14:1-15. Our hymns include: All hail the power of Jesus’ name; Our God is a great big God; and Great is Thy faithfulness. Visitors are always welcome to come along. We are a warm and welcoming church at the heart of our town — Central Church is Central to Bellshill, Central to Christ and Central to YOU!
BELLSHILL CENTRAL HITS THE HIGH NOTES! A superb evening was had last week at our Summer Big Sing when over 100 folks came out on what became a lovely summer evening to sing hymns and have fun, in support of Toilet Twinning. We raised £400 for this worthy cause – thank you for donating. Thanks are due to our organist Alan Mathew, compere Hugh Ainsley and Elyse Kirkham from Toilet Twinning for coming along to speak. We are a Parish Church, and are here for you in times of joy and sadness. Our minister, Rev Kevin de Beer, is available to the local community to offer spiritual support or to simply offer prayer. Each week in our Sunday Service we offer prayers for those needing remembered. SUMMER FUNDRAISER – Church members are taking part in the £2 summer fund raiser scheme again, making £2 grow for the church. Look out for various things taking place – such as coffee mornings, car washes, sponsored runs etc. AS well as being a good source of funds for our ongoing work these ideas always end up being great social and fellowship events to which all are welcome. Our weekly organisations are now all winding down for the Summer and all groups, leaders and members are looking forward to the summer break, but looking forward to resuming the fun, activities and friendship in the autumn. We are pleased to welcome back Music Movers and Shakers to our hall on Wednesdays from 5th July 10am-12pm. Also starting this summer, Saturday 19th August 10am-1pm we have the Crazy Toes School of dance using our premises. Please visit our website (Regular activities page) for details and links. SUMMER CHOIR meets each Sunday morning at 10am in the Church Hall for anyone interested in helping lead our praise each Sunday. Depending on who is there we will look at a quick fun easy piece for use in that Sunday’s service.
ADVANCE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
July sees the start of our SUMMER JOINT SERVICES. These will take place at 11AM IN ROTATION among the three town centre churches, led by the ministers and representatives of each congregation. We look forward to this time of combined worship meeting up with friends from St Andrew’s and West Churches. Remainder of the dates are: Sunday 16th July at St Andrews, Sunday 23rd July at the West and finishing on Sunday 30th at Central which includes Communion. Teas and Coffees will be served after each service at Bellshill Central.
As we go into Summer Services we pray, “Lord God, We put ourselves into Your hands, and pray that You will bless us and our families during the wonderful months of summer. May we all help make our home a place of relaxation, joy, love, peace and safety. May we be generous and considerate, not thinking only about ourselves, but helping others enjoy the blessings of summertime. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen”
ADVANCE NOTICE to members of Bellshill Central Parish Church that from SUNDAY 6TH AUGUST (when the summer services have stopped) our MORNING SERVICES WILL START AT 11 O’CLOCK for a trial period up to the end of the year. Details are also included in our church magazine and on posters outside the church. Sunday 6th August is also our monthly tea and coffee after worship – a great way to start August don’t you think.
Friday 8th September our Annual Church Quiz takes place under the watchful eye of Quizmaster HUGH AINSLEY. Tickets are on sale at £5 each. Players are invited to come along in teams (inventive names are a MUST!). The usual rounds will take place – Sport, TV, Films, Music and many more! We invite our Friends from St Andrew’s, West, EU churches and other local churches to come along too.
Our hall and facilities are available at other times during the week and are available to be hired for one off occasions or longer term lets. Please get in touch with us if you need a space to hire. We have now installed Wi-Fi which means we can offer facilities for online events taking place in the church and halls.
