Weekly news from Central Church

Sunday’s service on 19th November at Bellshill Central is at 11.00am led by Mr Bill Hasting, a reader within the Presbytery of Hamilton.   Bill’s theme is “The Good Samaritan” and hymns include Because he lives, Give me oil in my lamp and Blessed Assurance.    If you want a Church that is Central to Christ, Central to you and Central to Bellshill then look no further. We would be delighted to welcome you. Let us build a house where all can dwell – All are welcome in this place!

Sunday 26th November sees our Church Guild take our service when they will tell us about their Guild projects, how we can support them and how they in fact impact on our daily lives.

A special thank you to those who participated in our Remembrance Day service on Sunday (12th).  It was an especially memorable service, starting with our Choir singing “What shall we pray, for those who died”, and then their musical rendition of “For the Fallen” with the poem read by Mr Hugh Ainsley.    It was a pleasure to see many visitors and our young folks from Guides, Brownies at the service.   The colours were paraded in and out of the service, under Mr Tom Taylor’s watchful eye.   Thank you to those who donated over the last few weeks towards Poppy Scotland, and everyone who contributed to our retiring collection in aid of Erskine.   These monies will be sent on to the charities to help with their work.

Special day of Prayer – takes place on Saturday 25th November at Bellshill Central between 11am and 12noon, led by our minister the Rev Kevin de Beer.   All are welcome to come along and participate, as we pray for the world, ourselves and situations that concern us.  There are two services one at 11am and one at 11.30am.

In preparation for our annual Christmas Afternoon Tea, taking place on 2nd December, we have asked for donations of boxes of biscuits, shortbread, chocolates and there is a barrel at the front of the church each week for anyone dropping items off.   Our first carol service take place on 2nd December also, at 12noon, when we welcome our community to come along for a fun carol service.   More details of the Afternoon tea and the Shoppers Carol service to follow.

Our minister, Rev Kevin de Beer, is available to the local community to offer spiritual support or to simply offer prayer.  If there is something that you think your local church could be doing to offer services and/or support to our local community please get in touch via the Minister, Session Clerk, Facebook or website – Our church email address is bellshillcentral@gmail.com

Our minister, Revd Kevin December Beer, continues in his weekly live “Word on Wednesday” via Facebook. These involve a short 5-10 minute reflection, bible passage and prayer. We’d encourage you to look us up (Kevin De Beer and Bellshill Central Parish Church) to keep up to date. Kevin launched his “First Steps” book.
