This coming Sunday’s service, Sunday 25th February 2018, is at 11.00am when our Minister, Rev’d Kevin de Beer, leads us in morning worship for All Ages.
The month of February continues in our exploration of Mark’s Gospel as part of the lectionary Year B. The theme for this week is Abraham ‘father of faith’ – and the Second Sunday in Lent
Our hymns this week include The God of Abraham praise, As the deer pants for the water and All things bright and beautiful. Our bible readings are Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16 and then Genesis 22:1-5, our call to worship is from Psalm 22:23-31 and our Gospel is Mark 8:31-38. Crèche facilities are available every Sunday for the youngest of Children. We would be delighted to welcome you. Let us build a house where all can dwell – All are welcome in this place!
On Sunday evening (25th Feb) we meet with the congregation of Dalziel St Andrews Parish Church, Merry Street, Motherwell, for the re-arranged Songs of Praise with the Lanarkshire Organists, the songs of Praise commences at 6.30pm. The joint choirs of Bellshill Central and Dalziel St Andrew’s look forward to leading the singing. We are raising funds for St Andrew’s Hospice and a speaker from the Hospice will speak on the night about their capital campaign and on going developments. There will be a Joint choir practise on Wednesday 21st Feb at 7.30pm within Dalziel St Andrew’s Church, Motherwell.

- Friday 23rd Feb 78.30pm Church Choir in Church, Friday Night Club at 7.30pm in the Church Hall.
- Saturday 24th at 10am Crazy toes dance school
- Sunday 25th at 11am Young Church and our fabulous Crèche, with Sunday worship for All Ages
- Monday 26th at 1.30pm the church guild meet and have guest speaker: from United Biscuits – Steve Rodgers. This group is open to both men and women – all welcome. Janette Young will lead devotions and Cheryl de Beer will provide a vote of thanks.

Sunday 11th March at 11.00 o’clock is our Spring Communion service where all of our members are invited and encouraged to come along and take a seat at the table of our Lord, where we eat the bread and drink the wine in memory of Him. You don’t have to me a member of our church to take part. All who love the Lord are welcome to join us in communion, or indeed any Sunday morning.
Also on Sunday 11th March we hope to present long service certificate to Elders, Board Members and Sunday school teachers during our morning service. Please do come along and support our church family as we show our appreciation for these years of service to the many who have served the church locally and nationally.

Sunday 18th March straight after morning worship – our annual stated meeting. All members of Bellshill Central are urged to stay behind to hear our annual report and accounts for 2017, to give thanks for our achievements and plans for 2018.
Sunday 25th March straight after the morning service – our annual Hot Cross Bun event in the Church halls. We have the usual selection of Hot Cross Buns, lashings of luscious butter and plenteous supply of tea and coffee.

Our prayer book continues to be available in the main vestibule of the church. We offer prayer for those asking for specific people and circumstances each week during worship.

WORD ON WEDNESDAY
Our minister, Revd Kevin December Beer, continues in his weekly “Word on Wednesday” via his own YouTube Channel. These are shared via our Facebook page, but the best way to keep in touch is to subscribe to Kevin’s channel. These short 5-10 minute videos focus on a reflection, bible passage and prayer. Kevin launched his “First Steps” book. Please look this up on Amazon, or contact Kevin for a copy as we hope to spread the Gospel message that little bit further in Bellshill and Mossend.
COMMUNITY HALLS AVAILABLE FOR USE
Our hall and facilities are available at other times during the week and are available to be hired for one-off occasions or longer term lets. Please get in touch with us if you need a space to hire. We have now installed Wi-Fi which means we can offer facilities for online events taking place in the church and halls.
ADVANCE NOTICE OF CHORAL CONCERT
The Lanarkshire Society of Organists host a concert in Bellshill Central Parish Church on Saturday 10th March at 2.30pm with the Choral Scholars of the Schola Benedicti. This is is highly acclaimed group consisting of mainly young singers, who have recently returned from the Vatican and sang for the Pope. Tickets are priced £5 and are available from Alan Mathew (our organist) or can be purchased at the door on the day. Refreshments served afterwards. ALL WELCOME.
