Sunday 6th May 2018 – Sunday Service takes place at 11.00am, with Rev’d Kevin de Beer leading worship, with something suitable for All-ages. The bible readings are taken from 1 John 5:1-6 and John 15:9-17. Kevin’s theme for Sunday is “Chosen and choosing to give ourselves”. Hymns include Sing to God new songs of worship, Come on and celebrate, King of Kings Majesty and The kingdom of God. Sunday School and Crèche facilities are available each week.
Join us in the Church hall straight after the service for our Monthly tea/coffee fellowship giving us a chance to catch up and chat with folks. All are welcome.
Groups meeting this week are
- Wednesday – Music Makers and Shakers meets with classes at 10am and 11am.
- Thursday – Brownies meet at 6.15pm and Guides meet at 7.45pm
- Friday – Church Choir meet at 7.30pm in the Church.
- Friday -Our fantastic Friday Night Club meet in the hall from 7.30pm – crafts and fun for all ages!
- Saturday – Crazy Toes School of Dance meets from 10am – 1pm
- Sunday – Creche meets in the hall and Young Church meets in the Church.
- Sunday – Choir meets at 10.30am in the Hall for a quick practise.
- Sunday – Tea and coffee served in the hall after the service.
- Monday – Clothes show at Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre.
- Tuesday – Rainbows meet at 6pm
- Tuesday – Board and Session Meetings in the Hall at 7.30pm
MAY CLOTHES SHOW – Anne Guy’s legendary Clothes Show returns to the Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre on Monday 7th May at 7.30pm. Tickets are now on sale from the Church on Sundays or from Anne during the week. Please do mark the date in your diary as these events are a real treat. Along with the chance to buy some new clothes, you can take part in the raffles and win prizes.
B.B. BATTALION – For any past members of the Boys Bridge it may interest you to know that the 112th Annual Review of Motherwell, Bellshill and District Battalion of The Boys’ Brigade will take place within the King’s Church, Motherwell on Friday 4th May at 7:30pm. Tickets are priced at £1 and can be purchased at the door that evening.
CHURCH MAGAZINE – The next edition of our Church Magazine is due out before our June Communion Service. The editors, Lawson, Jean and Fiona Kyle, are looking for any letters, reflections, articles for inclusion asap, but at least handed to them, or emailed, by Sunday 13th May.
May Worship themes – Worship at Bellshill Central during the month of May includes topics – Chosen and choosing to give ourselves, and Joy and Hope. We also focus on Christian Aid week, Pentecost with informal communion and a celebration of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). The first Sunday of May (Sunday 6th May) is also our monthly tea and coffee in the hall after the service, so please do stay behind that particular Sunday.
Pentecost Wear Red – PENTECOST SUNDAY – We celebrate Pentecost (the church’s birthday) on Sunday 20th May with our Annual WEAR RED TO CHURCH event with the sacrament of Holy Communion, served in an informal and family service. Be Bright, Be Bold and be Passionate as we celebrate in colour and in song the coming of the Holy Spirit!
YOUNG CHURCH CHURCH FAMILY OUTING – Saturday 23rd June 2018.
The Young Church are again organising an outing to Kelburn Park and you are invited to come along! If you would like to be part of the fun and fellowship please let Drew Aitken or any Young Church leader know, and return the tear-off slip asap as spaces will run out quickly! The bus will leave from the Church, and return to the Church around 6pm on the 23rd June.
PRAYER & COMMUNITY – Please visit our Prayer page on our website (look for the prayer button at the top) – there is an online prayer request form which will send your prayer direct to our minister, Rev Kevin. Prayer Requests – Our church has provided a Prayer Book which is situated in the main vestibule for anyone to pop in a note of concern or anxiety they would like prayer for. We are a Parish Church and are here for you in times of joy and sadness. Kevin is available to the local community to offer spiritual support or to simply offer prayer. COMMUNITY HALLS AVAILABLE FOR USE – Our hall and facilities are available at other times during the week and are available to be hired for one-off occasions or longer term lets. Please get in touch with us if you need a space to hire. We have now installed Wi-Fi which means we can offer facilities for online events taking place in the church and halls.
