Sunday worship continues at 11am each Sunday morning at 346 Main Street – Bellshill Central Parish Church. Our church is Central to Christ, Central to Bellshill and Central to YOU! For 143 years we have shouted out the Good News of Jesus Christ and of His love for one and all. We offer a warm and generous welcome to all, on Sundays or throughout the week at any of our week day activities and groups. Our minister, Rev’d Kevin de Beer, loves being in our Faith Family and reaching outwards into the communities of Bellshill Town Centre, Mossend and Orbiston. As the Church of Scotland Parish for Central Bellshill, including the Town Centre, we want to you be part of what is a wonderful community of fellowship and faith. Please simply #comeasyouare!
This Sunday morning, 13th October at 11am our minister Rev’d Kevin preaches on ‘Jesus as servant role model’. The hymns include favourites; Spirit of truth and love, Lord I lift your Name on high, Beautiful Saviour, Brother Sister let me serve you and The Servant King. The service will be live streamed via our website and YouTube channel for those wishing to take part live or later on catch up. If you would like a tape, CD or DVD of the service these can be made available by speaking to Drew Aitken.
We had a wonderful service and Soup & Sandwich lunch last week. A massive thanks to the whole Central Church fundraising team and helpers for such a wonderfully enjoyable spread.
A huge and appreciative thank you to all took part in our August Sponsored walk/run, who have raised £1040.50 to date (not including Gift Aid). This helps us in our outreach to the community to be a beacon shining in Bellshill.
As the church for the Town Centre, our outreach this Autumn includes a Big Sing and a Time to Remember Service.
The Big Sing (Hymns Old & New) takes place on Sunday 27th October at 6.30pm in the Church with organist Alan Mathew, Presenter Hugh Ainsley and the augmented Bellshill Central Choir. We are raising funds for Project Gambia: People Feeding People. We invite everyone to come along and be part of this evening of wonderful singing. Hymns include: old favourites – I will sing the wondrous story, O for a thousand tongues, And can it be, Who is on the Lord’s side, Guide me o thou great Jehovah and I to the hills will lift mine eyes; and more contemporary songs – Be still, Sing of the Lord’s goodness, See what a morning, The Lord’s my shepherd I’ll not want and In Christ Alone. About our Charity – Project Gambia: People Feeding People is a Scottish Charity which functions to support St. John’s School for the Deaf in Serrekunda, in the West African state of The Gambia. They now also support St. Patrick’s Lower Basic School and St. Joseph’s Nursery School in The Gambia. The Gambia is one of Africa’s poorest countries, ranking 173rd out of 188 countries in the U.N. Development Programme’s 2016 Statistics for Human Development.
The Time to Remember Service takes place on Sunday 3rd November at 6.30pm in the Church at 346 Main Street. Time to Remember Service is a new service for us here at Central. It aims to offer a quiet, contemplative space and environment for those who may be recently bereaved or needing time to pray for a particularly difficult situation. Please invite anyone you feel might benefit. An opportunity to come and remember your loved ones who have died, hear their names read out and to light a candle. Remember a time or difficult situation. If you would like to attend and wish a loved one’s name read out please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01698 841176.
