Sunday worship continues at 11am each Sunday morning at 346 Main Street – Bellshill Central Parish Church. Our church is Central to Christ, Central to Bellshill and Central to YOU! For 147 years we have shouted out the Good News of Jesus Christ and of His love for one and all. We offer a warm and generous welcome to all, on Sundays or throughout the week at any of our week day activities and groups. Our minister, Rev’d Kevin de Beer, loves being in our Faith Family and reaching outwards into the communities of Bellshill Town Centre, Mossend and Orbiston. As the Church of Scotland Parish for Central Bellshill, including the Town Centre, we want to you be part of what is a wonderful community of fellowship and faith. Please simply #comeasyouare!
This Sunday morning at 11am our minister continues his 7 week series of Jesus in Samaria – this week ‘The Barn Builder’ – Poverty and neediness before God in a covetous, self sufficient world. Just come along and join us at 11.00am at the church at 346 Main Street right at the Centre of our town. The readings are Genesis 13:1-13 and Luke 12:13-21. Our hymns include: Knowing You Jesus, As the deer pant, Worship the Lord, and we finish with a South African song – Amen we praise your name O God.
Our Sunday services are live streams via our Church Website and YouTube Channel and are uploaded for viewing later at your leisure. Services are able to be reproduced on Tape, CD and DVD. Portable DVD players are also available. Please just get in touch with Drew Aitken at the Church.
As it is the 1st Sunday of the Month, we join together in the Hall over tea, coffee and some biscuits. Of course, the best thing about our tea/Coffee is the fellowship. That time set aside to catch up with folks, share some news and check in with someone. Please stay behind after the service.
Throughout the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity we held daily 1/2 hour services in the Church in the East Aisle and were lead by various folks from our church and from around Bellshill. Thank you to Rev Kevin de Beer, Peggy Walker, Jim Bryden from the Salvation army, Addie Girvan from St. Gerard’s and Alan Mathew. Over the week some 80 people came through our doors to share fellowship, God’s Word and to pray together. We are indeed blessed that there is the need and want to pray. If you would like to be part of a more organised prayer group/circle please let us know.
Last Sunday, we had a lovely Burn’s Lunch. We want to thank the fund raising and social team for their tremendous hard work, and the extra helpers who played their part. Thank you especially to our Fund raising ‘gaffer’ Jane Aitken for keeping her expert eye on all the various parts to make it a wonderful get together.
We celebrate in a Baprism on Sunday 16th February during our morning worship. We invite the friends and family of the little one to join with us. If you would like to have your child baptised into the fellowship of the Church, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with Rev de Beer who will be more than happy to speak with you.
HEART AND SOLE – Our Church Walking Group – next meet on Sunday 23rd February after the Church. Please bring along a sandwich to have (or to share) over a cuppa in the hall. We will likely walk Strathclyde Park stopping for a cuppa before heading home. Remember to dress appropriately!
The Church, Hall and rooms/kitchens are available to hire to the community. They are ideal for group activities, parties, lectures, coffee mornings, meetings etc. The Church has multi media facilities. The Hall has portable Audio and Visual equipment available. Competitive rates available. Please just get in touch. We are open to the community.
