Prayer time 27th July

  1. Call to Worship
    Reading: Psalm 95:1–3 (NIV)

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.

Prayer:
“Lord, I come into Your presence. Quiet my heart and open my spirit to worship You.”

  1. Prayer of Approach
    Reading: Psalm 24:3–4 (NIV)

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.

Prayer:
“Holy God, I draw near to You. You are pure and perfect.
Prepare my heart to meet with You.”

  1. Confession
    Reading: 1 John 1:8–9 (NIV)

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Prayer:
“Merciful Father, I confess my sins before You…
Forgive me, cleanse me, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Silent reflection for 1–2 minutes.

  1. Praise & Adoration
    Reading: Psalm 103:1–5 (NIV)

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Prayer:
“Lord, You are worthy of all praise.
I adore You for Your goodness, Your mercy, Your power, and Your love.”

  1. Thanksgiving
    Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV)

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for Your daily mercies…
For life, strength, hope, forgiveness, and every good gift.”

List 5 things you are thankful for today.

  1. Prayer for Others
    Reading: 1 Timothy 2:1–2 (NIV)

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Prayer:
“Lord, I lift before You those in need…
Bring healing, comfort, guidance, and peace.”

Pray for:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Church community
  • Those suffering
  • Leaders and nations

  1. Prayer for Self
    Reading: Psalm 139:23–24 (NIV)

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Prayer:
“Lord, guide me, strengthen me, and lead me in Your way.
Shape my thoughts, desires, and actions.”

  1. Meditation on Scripture
    Reading: John 15:1–8 (NIV)

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes
so that it will be even more fruitful.
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, as I also remain in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine.
Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches.
If you remain in me and I in you,
you will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing.
If you do not remain in me,
you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers;
such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you,
ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
This is to my Father’s glory,
that you bear much fruit,
showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

Meditation Steps:

  1. Read slowly.
  2. Notice a word or phrase.
  3. Sit quietly with it.
  4. Ask: “Lord, what are You saying to me?”
  5. Listen in silence.

  1. Closing Prayer
    “Lord, thank You for meeting with me.
    Help me walk in Your ways today.
    May Your peace guard my heart and mind.”
