A Service of Prayer, Light and Remembrance

Christmas can be a wonderful and joyful time of year — but for many people, it can also be a difficult time.
Perhaps this is the first Christmas without someone you love. Perhaps memories of someone special become especially strong at this time of year. Perhaps life has changed, and Christmas doesn’t feel quite the same anymore.
That’s why, on the evening of Monday 21 December, we will gather at Bellshill Central Church for a special Blue Christmas Service.
As we gather on the shortest day of the year, we will make space for light in the darkness.
There will be music, candlelight, prayer and quiet reflection. There will be an opportunity to remember someone you love, to light a candle in their memory, and simply to spend some time in a peaceful and welcoming space.
You may wish to come with a particular person in mind. You may want to give thanks for a life that touched yours. Or perhaps you don’t know exactly why you feel you need to come — only that you do.
Come along. Remember a loved one. Light a candle. Say a prayer.
There is no pressure to say anything or do anything. Simply come as you are and share in a gentle time of music, light, reflection and remembrance.
In the midst of the darkness, we remember that light still shines.
You are warmly invited.
