As the Church of Scotland in Bellshill we extend a warm welcome to any of our activities. People have been coming to this building to worship God for over a hundred years. While our town has journeyed through many changes over those years, the constancy of the witness of the “Church at 346 Main Street” has remained uninterrupted. The mission of any Church is to reflect through its presence, its music, its fellowship and its beauty the greatness of God, and we seek to do that here in all that we share. We hope that everyone who enters these doors will find an encouraging, friendly group of people. While we are far from perfect, we are regularly discovering truths that are changing us individually and enriching our lives as a church community. As we worship together, learn from the Bible, and pray for one another, we are strengthened in our commitment to Jesus Christ as well as to each other. If this is your first time here, we welcome you, and invite you to share the joy that we have found.

Join us for online worship Sunday 22nd March at 11am

On Sunday 22nd March, we will provide our very first online worship which will be led by our minister, Rev’d Kevin de Beer, and will include some pre-recorded songs and hymns from our organist, the choir and congregation.

We thought it would be comforting to have familiar views and sounds while we worship in a different way during the COVID-19 crisis. So, in our online worship we will use the sounds of our organ, choir and congregation singing. We will use familiar images from our church, including our lovely stained glass windows.

The worship will be recorded in advance and will go online at just before 11am on Sunday morning at via our website and YouTube here https://bellshillcentral.church/watch-live/ or click the image to the left.

Once the live stream is finished it will be uploaded to our YouTube Channel for you to watch later if you missed the live stream and it will also be available on our Catch Up link at the very top of this website.

Important information from BCPC

These posters will be displayed in front of BCPC over the next few days.

Until further notice all Public Services of Worship and activities within Bellshill Central Parish Church are all suspended due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic.

We hope to be able to open our church to provide a quiet space for private prayer and reflection.  

If the front doors to the church are open then please come in if you wish, unless you are at all unwell in which case we ask you to stay at home for your own protection & that of others.

If you do come into the church please observe the hygiene protocols in place, use sanitizer & wash your hands.

We may be able to live stream some moments of worship – please check out our Facebook and Website for details.

In this time of crisis it is important that you are able to contact the Church in times of need

  • If you are self-isolating and need to talk with someone – we are here!
  • If you have a friend, a family member or a neighbour who needs someone to talk to – we are here!
  • If practical support is needed, we may can help!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) information

Update 17/03/2020: All public worship services are cancelled until further notice.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) information – We have in place hand sanitizers at the front door of the building (Church main door), the halls and the kitchen. The toilets have ample supply of soap and nail brushes as good hand washing is the most effective way to reduce the spread of the virus, however using hand sanitiser in between can also help reduce the risk of spreading. Our premises is being kept clean and tidy, door handles, light switches, hand rails and all other “common touch” surfaces are being sanitized. We have taken all precautions available, and are being guided by Church of Scotland, NHS and Government advice. PLEASE CHECK WITH US ABOUT ANY CHANGES WHICH MAY HAPPEN QUICKLY.

If you need to cough or sneeze then: Catch it (Tissue), Bin it, Kill it (wash your hands).  PREVENTION IS THE PREFERRED OPTION! Please read the notices throughout the building. Whilst in places of worship, there is no need to avoid other worshipers who are well.

ALL ACTIVITIES THAT TAKE PLACE IN OUR CHURCH ARE NOW CANCELLED, POSTPONED OR SUSPENDED DURING THIS CURRENT CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

Simple measures like washing your hands often with soap and water can help stop viruses like coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading.

Do:

  • wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • always wash your hands when you get home or into work
  • use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
  • cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
  • try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

Don’t

  • do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
