This weeks church news 

Morning worship on Sunday 2nd October takes place at 10:45am at Bellshill Central Church, 346 Main Street. Our minister, Rev Kevin de Beer, will lead worship.  
The morning service is our harvest thanksgiving. We praise and thank god for his bounty and care. Kevin’s theme for the service is Fed by Gods grace and presence, with readings from 1 Kings 19:1-18 and Mark 6:30-44. Hymns include harvest favourites We plough the fields and For the beauty of the earth.  
Activities for children and young adults are available in our Young Church groups that meets during the service. All are warmly welcome to our service of worship. We’re a warm and welcoming church family at the heart of Bellshill. We would love to see you join us. 
Our harvest lunch takes place after the service, and tickets are available now from the church or reserve them online.  
THE BIG SING IS HERE! This Sunday, 2nd October at 7pm. Bellshill Central Parish Church proudly hosts our next BIG SING raising funds for St Andrew’s Hospice, Airdrie. A very well deserving local charity. Organist and Choirmaster, Alan Mathew, hopes that this BIG SING will attract even more people than the last one, which helped raise £600 for Maggies. All singers are invited, all local churches are invited, our whole local and wider community is invited. We need your help to make it great. The famous Best Bellshill Cuppa and treats will be served in the hall afterwards.    
Saturday 1st October we celebrate with Sharon and Grant as they begin married life with their marriage ceremony which takes place in the church.     
Our church guild resumes Monday 3rd October at 7:30pm with a visit to Burnhead Church, Uddingston. This will be a joint night with our link branch and a service of communion. All ladies and gents are welcome to come along. Full event details for the year are available online.   
Over £400 was raised by our church quiz and car treasure hunt in recent weeks. Thank you to those who organised and took part. Thank you to Jean Hargrave who organised a super Line Dancing night on Friday.  
 Both our Brownie (7-10yrs) and Guide (10-14yrs) packs have resumed on Thursday nights in the Church Halls. Brownies meeting from 6.15pm-7.30pm and the Guides from 7.45-9.15pm. Any girls interested should come along to the church hall to join in the fun and be part of the Guide Family. Our Rainbows (5-7yrs) have also resumed on Tuesdays in the Church halls at Bellshill Central. The Rainbows meet from 6pm-7pm. Any girls interested are invited to come along to the church hall to join with other girls from the local area. Information online at http://www.rainbows.girlguiding.org.uk 
The Friday night club has resumed at 7pm on alternate Friday evenings. Next meeting is on Friday 7th October. Table tennis, crafts, open to all ages all welcome.

Weekly News

Morning worship on Sunday 25th of September takes place at 10:45am at Bellshill Central Church, 346 Main Street. Our minister, Rev Kevin de Beer, will lead worship.

Kevin’s theme for the service is “you are blessed” with readings from Genesis 1:26-31, Ephesians 1:3-14 and Luke 1:46-56. Hymns include Holy Holy Holy, I am a new creation, We have heard a joyful sound.

Activities for children and young adults are available in our Young Church groups that meets during the service. All are warmly welcome to our service of worship. We’re a warm and welcoming church family at the heart of Bellshill. We would love to see you join us.

Two very successful events took place over the weekend – Friday 16th the Church quiz with Hugh Ainsley as Quizmaster. An excellent night of fun and friendship and lots of brain work! Big thanks to all who helped out and those who came along. Looking forward to next year. The Fundraising group organised a very enjoyable Car Treasure Hunt on Saturday 17th September, leaving from the church at 10am, and returning with the results of the Hunt to have a wonderful lunch prepared by the Fund Raising Group – a massive thanks to the work put into this. Between the Quiz questions and the Treasure Hunt clues we’ve had our grey cells well and truly tested!!! Over £500 for church funds was gather over the course of the weekend.   Great work.   

British Gas Energy Gameshow takes place on 22nd September 2016 from 1.00 – 3.00pm at the Orbiston Neighbourhood Centre and Refreshments will be served. The Energy Gameshow is a fun and engaging way to learn about how to save money and energy. Led by fully trained British Gas employees, the Gameshow includes three interactive games (with prizes!!). Come & join in! If you would like to join us on the day, please let Tammy McGuiness know as we have a limited number of places 01698 842215.

A line dancing night is being organised for Friday 30th Sept at 7:30pm Tickets and more information available from Jean Hargraves on Sunday.  Please note – this is not being held in the Church hall;  it is being held at the Masonic Hall, Bellshill.  

The Church Choir meets on Friday 23rd September at 7.30pm in the Church. Practice W/C 267th September has still to be finalised. New members are warmly welcomed. Tea, Coffee and chat available from 7o’clock.

The Friday night club has resumed at 7pm on alternate Friday evenings. Next meeting on 23rd September. Table tennis, crafts, open to all ages all welcome.

Coming up: The Big Hymn Sing on 2nd October

The Big Sing Poster

Coming up on Sunday 2nd October 2016 at 7 o’clock we are holding our BIG HYMN SING in aid of St. Andrew’s Hospice, Airdrie.

Our Organist will lead some well chosen hymns and we will have a speaker from St. Andrew’s and refreshments in the hall afterwards. Entry is free, but an offering donation will be uplifted for St. Andrew’s Hospice.

The Soundsational Choir based in Bellshill are coming along to sing with us and for us – this is very exciting – our first collaboration together!

If you sing in a choir and would like to form part of our harmony choir, then come with your Full Music copy of CH4.   Hymn words will be provided also – but you can download a copy here. Do also download the The Big Sing Poster and invitation letter to spread the word!
