Whats on this week at Central Church, 4th July 2018

If you’re looking for a church that is Central to Christ, Central to you and Central to Bellshill – then look no further! Sunday 8th July 2018 – Sunday Service takes place at 11.00am at St Andrew’s UF Church which is the 2nd of the town centre churches joint summer services. Please note that there is no service at Bellshill Central or Bellshill West Parish Churches on the 8th July. We look forward to worshipping with friends old and new to these joint summer services.

Our first joint service had a great turnout from all three churches and Rev de-beer spoke to us about the Resurrection, how Christ is Alive within us, and is present everywhere. Some sounds bites from Kevin’s preaching included … Glory, Grace, Gratitude. The Resurrection as God’s ‘Yes’ to the world’s ‘no’ and thus offering (by God’s grace) the reconstruction of a disordered, divided and dis-eased world. And so we say Yes to life… So don’t just stand there – Do something: Sing, write, paint, care, protest, thank, pray, love, hope, trust, listen, laugh, share, build… The Resurrection of Christ is truly the Event that invites us to believe and act – Christ is risen. He is risen indeed.

img_0604CHRISTIAN AID – the final total for Bellshill Central Parish activities raising funds for Christian Aid was £413. We had collections and a Church Breakfast helping raise these much needed funds. There is gift aid to be included so the actual total will be in excess of £500.

Sunday 1st July 2018 – Sunday Service takes place at 11.00am, with Rev’d Kevin de Beer leading worship which is the start of the month of shared worship between Central Church, St Andrew’s Church and the West Church. We look forward to welcoming friends old and new to these joint summer services.

This Sunday we focus on ‘the Resurrection’ with bible readings taken from Psalm 23 and 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. Hymns include The Church is wherever God people are praising, I serve a risen saviour, My Jesus My Saviour and Thine be the Glory. Activities for young folks are available. After the service tea and coffee will be served in the hall and everyone is invited to join with us in further fellowship.
The combined choir will sing Brother James’ Air – a version of the 23rd Psalm.

SPECIAL THANKS- are expressed to our fantastic Young Church leaders who organised a great weekend of activities – Jane, Drew, Susan and Lesley. Some 57 people travelled by bus and others by car to Kelburn Castle by Largs. It was a fabulous day and the weather was great. The BBQ before heading home was very much enjoyed. The traditional water fight proved to be a competitive event, with some interesting tactics being deployed. Our Minister Kevin was the target of just one or two water pistols! Sunday saw the Young Church prize giving and all age service. The children took part by reading the lessons, helping the duty team and leading our prayers. Kevin’s all age message was much enjoyed by everyone present. After the church Iain and David cooked up a treat on the BBQ in the church garden – and there was a wonderful supply of cakes. Thank you to such a wonderful team. Central Church is blessed by your commitment to the church and young folks.

Important dates for this week are:
