Here at Bellshill Central, you will find a warm welcome from committed Christian people who are serious about their faith journey but also enjoy having a good time. You will find passionate worship, which seeks to incorporate both the traditional and the new, and preaching that tries hard to make the Scripture message relevant to our daily living. If you want a Church that will honour your journey of faith and challenge you to go deeper into your relationship with Jesus Christ, then this is the place for you, and we are delighted to welcome you. The next Sunday service at Bellshill Central Parish Church is on Sunday 30^th July led by Rev de Beer at 11am. This will be the last of our summer joint services with St Andrew’s and West Churches. This service also includes the sacrament of Communion, celebrated in an informal style. The bible readings are taken from Deuteronomy 24:10-22 and Mathew 20: 1-16. Our hymns include “Christ Triumphant, ever reigning”, “Tell me the stories of Jesus” and “I want to serve the purpose of God in my generation” A joint choir practice will take place at 10am within the Church hall for anyone taking part. Activities for Children and Young Adults activities will be available during the service. Tea and coffee are served after the service. We would be delighted to welcome you in the LORD’s name. If you are a visitor to our church, do make yourself known to one of the welcome team. We are a warm and welcoming church at the heart of our town — Central Church is Central to Bellshill, Central to Christ and Central to YOU!
We Live Stream our Sunday Services via our YouTube Channel – please join our online congregation from 11am if you are not able to come to church and worship with us online.

From SUNDAY 6TH AUGUST our MORNING SERVICES WILL START AT 11 O’CLOCK for a trial period up to the end of the year. Details are also included in our church magazine and on posters outside the church. Sunday 6^th August is also our monthly tea and coffee after worship – a great way to start August don’t you think. The theme of the minister’s sermon on 6^th August is “I feel like I am from another planet” and we explore the readings from Psalm 22:1-11 and 22-28 and Matthew 6:25-34.

We are a Parish Church, and are here for you in times of joy and sadness. Our minister, Rev Kevin de Beer, is available to the local community to offer spiritual support or to simply offer prayer. Each week in our Sunday Service we offer prayers for those needing remembered. SUMMER FUNDRAISER – Church members are taking part in the £2 summer fund raiser scheme again, making £2 grow for the church. Look out for various things taking place – such as coffee mornings, car washes, sponsored runs etc. AS well as being a good source of funds for our ongoing work these ideas always end up being great social and fellowship events to which all are welcome. Again, watch out on facebook, our website and verbal notices on Sunday mornings.

Our weekly organisations are looking forward to resuming the fun, activities and friendship in August and the new sessions. Church Choir resumes in a few weeks on Friday 18^th August at 7.30pm in the Church.

We are pleased to welcome back Music Movers and Shakers to our hall on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm. Also starting this summer, on Saturday 19^th August 10am-1pm, we have the Crazy Toes School of dance using our premises. Please visit our website (Regular activities page) for details and links. SUMMER CHOIR meets each Sunday morning at 10am in the Church Hall during the rest of July and August for anyone interested in helping lead our praise each Sunday. Depending on who is there we will look at a quick fun easy piece for use in that Sunday’s service.

ADVANCE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Friday 8^th September our Annual Church Quiz takes place under the watchful eye of Quizmaster HUGH AINSLEY. Tickets are on sale at £5 each. Players are invited to come along in teams (inventive names are a MUST!). The usual rounds will take place – Sport, TV, Films, Music and many more! We invite our Friends from St Andrew’s, West, EU churches and other local churches to come along too.

Sunday 10th September 2017 at 11 o’clock – Holy Communion with a retiring offering for the Moira Anderson Foundation (a National Charity dedicated to supporting those affected by childhood sexual abuse. They support children and adults of both genders in whatever way they can).

Our hall and facilities are available at other times during the week and are available to be hired for one off occasions or longer term lets. Please get in touch with us if you need a space to hire. We have now installed Wi-Fi which means we can offer facilities for online events taking place in the church and halls.

Coming up: Another Big Sing!

Coming up on Sunday 25th June 2017 at 6.30pm we are holding our BIG SUMMER HYMN SING in aid of Toilet Twining (www.toilettwinning.org).

Our Organist, Alan Mathew, will lead some well chosen hymns and songs all with a Summer theme and we will have a speaker from Toilet Twinning and refreshments in the hall afterwards. Entry is free, but an offering donation will be uplifted for Toilet Twinning.

All the words will be projected onto our Big Screen, no need to worry about hymn books or song sheets.

All are indeed welcome!

Sunday worship takes place at Bellshill Central Parish Church at 346 Main Street, on Sunday 19th March 2017 at our normal time of 10.45am, when our Minister Rev’d Kevin de Beer will conduct worship and our Young Church and children’s activities will be available. Our bible readings are from 1 Corinthians 7:1-7, 25-31 and 1 Corinthians 14:26-35, and our sung praise includes All things bright and beautiful, O perfect love and This is the day!. The theme is “Paul’s teaching on sexuality”. Visitors are always welcome to come along.

Our Stated Annual Meeting, as the congregation of Bellshill Central Parish Church, takes place on Sunday 19^th immediately following the Morning Service. All are welcome to this annual meeting where we look back, give thanks for the year ended and look forward with anticipation to new possibilities in 2017. We also go over the accounts for 2016.

Lent – Prayer in Lent – #prayerinlent – our Minister is leading the Community in prayer and reflection throughout the season of Lent, please check out facebook – look at our page or look up the hashtag #prayerinlent to catch all the activity. This is our second online initiative with our minister, we hope that the daily updates will reach out to everyone.

We are starting to prepare for our Easter Passion Play taking place on Easter Sunday. It will once again involve all ages and anyone is welcome to take part. We need people to play our roles, be part of a crowd, and to join our Jerusalem Singers! Contact us at the church if you want to take part. Easter Sunday is one of our major services to which we welcome anyone from our town to take part in the day we celebrate the Lord Jesus raising to life.

Looking towards the Summer months we are proposing to pilot a weekly end of say service (Sundown Services) in our Church to which all are warmly welcomed to attend. The services may take place mid-week on Wednesday’s around 7.30pm/8.00pm and last around 40minutes. Being led by different people/ministers and leaders means that these Sundown services will offer a theme, a song and a mood to suit everyone. Tea/Coffee and refreshments would be served either before or after. We think that this quieter time of the year calls for a way of coming together as a community to share stories, faith journey’s and time of fellowship together. The Church Guild is open to both men and women. Saturday 18^th March sees our next Resource day being held in Dalziel St Andrew’s Parish Church, Motherwell. Our next regular meeting takes place on Monday 13^th March at 1.30pm. Devotions and thanks will be given by Sheena and Reena. The members of the guild thoroughly enjoyed on Tuesday 14^th our trip to New Kilpatrick in Bearsden to visit our guild partners. It is always nice to be guests in other guilds, sharing stories, fellowship and extending the welcome from our own church and guild.
The Church Choir returns to a Friday Practice this week on Thursday 17^th March at 7.30pm, in the church hall. We are a friendly bunch of folks who have fun and sing together. Tea time is always a highlight. We are always looking for new members. We’ve a few new Anthems and Worship Songs up our sleeves that we’re putting finishing touches to, and working towards music for Easter Sunday.
Our Brownie Pack meets on Thursdays at 6.15pm, and all girls aged 7-10 years are welcome to come along. The Brownie Adventure is about trying new things that teach girls about themselves, their community and their world. The Brownie programme deserves to be called an Adventure. The name reflects the world of new opportunities, challenges and fun that girls become part of when they join.
Our Rainbows meet on Tuesday nights at 7pm for all girls aged 5-7years. Rainbows – it’s all about learning, it’s all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, getting in touch with nature and playing games – it’s all about learning by doing. Rainbows follow a diverse and engaging programme called the Rainbow Jigsaw, through which they can take part in lots of different activities with girls their own age.
The Church Guides continue to meet on Thursday’s from 7.45pm for girls aged 10-14 years. The Guide programme is simply what you’ll do as a Guide – from taking part in lots of exciting activities at regular meetings, to special events and trips away. What you do is up to you. You will choose from different badges and awards which will help you learn new skills and try new challenges. You can do some programme independently, and others in small groups of Guides known as Patrols.
The Bellshill Probus club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1.30pm in the church hall. This is an open club for all local men. Come along and ask for Mr Conquer who will be only too pleased to welcome you to the group.
Our Church bowling club meets on Wednesdays in the Church hall at 7 pm. This is a group for all abilities. Here you’ll find a group of friendly competitors, who offer a friendly and supportive environment. A weekly treat of tea and cakes are served up in-between ends.
Our Friday Night ALL-AGE Club has returned for 2017 on Friday nights at 7pm in the Church Hall, next meeting on Friday 24th March. This bi-weekly club has activities for all ages, table tennis, crafts, games, and refreshments served. Adults, Children and Families come back time and time again.

Holy Week services are due to start on Wednesday 12th April and will be held in Bellshill Central Parish Church. These are town services and will be Led by Rev Darren Barlow, Rev Kevin de Beer and members of the Living Waters Church. Look out for notices outside the church for details of each night. Please do take this opportunity to share in these joint services preparing for Easter.
